The Afghan National Army 215th Corps color guard marches the Afghan national colors past Helmand province and Afghan National Defense and Security Force key leaders during a graduation ceremony at Camp Shorabak, Afghanistan, Dec. 3, 2017. The ceremony marked the end of the 6th Kandak, 1st Brigade 215th Corps’ operational readiness cycle, an eight-week course led by Afghan instructors at the Helmand Regional Military Training Center. Approximately 350 soldiers with the unit trained to enhance their infantry capabilities and will support Afghan National Defense and Security Force combat operations throughout the province. Afghan National Army soldiers with 6th Kandak, 1st Brigade, 215th Corps insert notionally wounded soldiers into an Mi-17 helicopter during casualty evacuation training at Camp Shorabak, Afghanistan, Nov. 19, 2017. The Helmand Regional Military Training Center implemented its first iteration of CASEVAC training using Afghan air assets as part of the operational readiness cycle to help prepare its students for real-world missions. U.S. advisors assigned to various train, advise, assist commands from throughout Afghanistan observed the training in preparation for integrating standardized CASEVAC rehearsals into their unit’s ORCs.
