Lance Cpl. Parker Hobbs, a combat engineer with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, unearths an AK-47 magazine in Southern Marjah, March 23, during Operation Watchtower. Fox Company found approximately 10 weapons caches during Watchtower. The operation, devised by Regimental Combat Team 1, targeted suspected insurgent bed-down and supply locations in Central Helmand province, Afghanistan. Watchtower, which included four battalions from RCT-1, ran in conjunction with Marine patrols near the Pakistan border to preempt a possible influx of insurgent fighters this spring. - Lance Cpl.
