2nd MAW commanding general awards VMFAT-501 Marine

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Melissa Siance, a motor vehicle operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 6, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, and a native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, looks over training rosters on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sept. 25, 2024. Roll Tide Motivation: Cpl. Armstrong Division Shoutout

Njenga was part of the Uniformed Services University Health Services Military Tropical Medicine (MTM) program, where she conducted medical research in Honduras. When asked how she plans to use her experiences and new knowledge back in the fleet Njenga shared, “A doctor that we learned from in the program explained how she was able to advise care on an outbreak in Hawaii after we returned from the course based on what we learned in Honduras. If a similar event happens to us, I will be able to advise different avenues of care that we might not have normally thought of because of the experience that I gained from the MTM program.” MTM is a six-week tri-service program that provides specialized training in aspects of medicine unique to tropical areas. 2nd MLG Sailor Learns Military Tropical Medicine Abroad

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Nicolas Wagner, a transmission systems operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 26, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, and a native of Anchorage, Alaska, poses for a portrait on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sept. 19, 2024. Wagner’s leaders nominated him for warrior of the week for his expertise on the management of spectrum observation during the CLB-26 Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation. He was directly responsible for providing commanders with invaluable information on how to limit digital footprints during operations. When asked what drives him, Wagner replied, “I just enjoy my job, getting up a satellite or monitoring signal footprints, it reminds me of my work back home...working with my father to fix security systems really helped me learn work ethic.” Each week, 2nd MLG recognizes one outstanding Marine or Sailor that goes above and beyond in their duties and embodies the qualities of an outstanding service member.     NIKOKLEIA, Cy.
    U.S. Marines with Maritime Special Purpose Force, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable (SOC) alongside special operations forces with the Cypriot National Guard conduct a bilateral parachute insertion during scheduled bilateral training with the Republic of Cyprus National Guard, near Nikokleia, Cyprus, Sept. 23, 2024. The training, set to take place from September to early November, was coordinated with the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and is designed to strengthen the operational capabilities of both forces and reaffirm the strong security cooperation and commitment to regional stability between the U.S. and Cyprus. The 24th MEU (SOC) and Wasp Amphibious Ready Group are on a scheduled deployment to U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa area of operations to support U.S., Allied, and partner interests in the region, including in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
