U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Rafael Lozada, an ammunition technician with Ammunition Company, 2nd Combat Readiness Regiment, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, counts blank ammunition on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, April 17, 2024. Lozada was selected by his command for his diligence, commitment, and seamless ability to handle a multitude of tasks. Lozada’s accomplishment include completing over 800 issue and turn-in transactions, coupled with conducting more than 150 vehicle inspections, while being praised for high ethics and efficiency. When asked why he joined the Marine Corps Lozada said, “I played football in college for three years prior to joining the military, and a lot of it is similar. In football it is all about having attention to detail, which makes the difference between winning and losing. In the Marine Corps paying attention to the details is even more important because it isn’t just win or lose, it can be life or death.” Each week, 2nd MLG recognizes one outstanding Marine or Sailor that goes above and beyond in their duties and embodies the whole Marine concept.
