Chilean Commandant visits Camp Lejeune

Rear Adm. Marco Amigo Jimenez, general commandant of the Chilean Marine Corps, toured the Special Operations Training Group facilities at Stone Bay during his day-long visit to Camp Lejeune, Sept. 13. 

Major Gen. John M. Croley, the commanding general of U.S. Marine Corps Forces South, facilitated the visit to showcase the Marine Corps’ urban training facilities aboard the base.

Jimenez witnessed firsthand how SOTG trains Marine Expeditionary Units and prepares them for deployment. 

Also, while at SOTG, Jimenez met with two Chilean Marines who are currently attached to the unit as liaisons. The U.S. and Chilean Marine Corps have an operational exchange program which allows the countries to work together and share information.
