Second Marine Division (Forward) recently released a new six-part series entitled "Commanding general reflects on Helmand." The series of intimate interviews with the commanding general of 2nd Marine Division (Forward) highlights the challenges and successes the Marines and sailors of the division made during their tenure as the ground combat element of the Marine Air Ground Task Force and Regional Command (Southwest) during the last year. In the second installment Brig. Gen. Lewis Craparotta discusses the closure of insurgent smuggling routes in southern Helmand. Craparotta also delves into disruption and clearing operations, which took place prior to the insurgents' spring offensive during the early months of 2011. Also available in high definition.

B-roll of Marines with 2nd Tanks conduct overwatch missions. Tankers regularly perform overwatch missions for their fellow Marines and other coalition forces. An overwatch mission consists of providing security for the Marine engineers and infantrymen on the ground, improving roads and building a better future for Afghanistan. A single overwatch mission can last an entire day with the main gun turret and driver’s compartments reaching temperatures well above 100 degrees. Staff Sgt. Kareem O. Marines Keep Rolling Through Dangerous Afghan Terrain

Package about how Marines with 3/2 load and deliver supplies throughout the unit's area of operations. More than 14,000 miles and counting have already been logged, ridden, and traveled in their efforts to support the hundreds of service members bravely serving their country. Sgt. Carlos Perry is a Baltimore native and Lance Cpl. John Gaw is from Pendleton, Indiana. Both Marines are with the logistics train for the unit and are featured in the video package. The logistics train has delivered more than 18,000 cases of food and 250,000 gallons of fuel throughout the unit's occupying area. Marines of the 2nd Combat Engineering Battalion, 2nd Marines Division (Forward) in Camp Leatherneck, Helmand Province, Islamic Republic Afghanistan work on a Husky combat support vehicle that has a hydraulic leak. The Husky is an important tool in defeating improvised explosive devices used by insurgents against the allied forces in Afghanistan. The two Marines mainly featured in this footage are Lance Cpl. Anti-Armor Rolls, Patrols through Helmand Province

The Combined Anti-Armor Team with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, is the “big guns” for the unit.
