B-roll of Marines with 2nd Tanks conduct overwatch missions. Tankers regularly perform overwatch missions for their fellow Marines and other coalition forces. An overwatch mission consists of providing security for the Marine engineers and infantrymen on the ground, improving roads and building a better future for Afghanistan. A single overwatch mission can last an entire day with the main gun turret and driver’s compartments reaching temperatures well above 100 degrees. Staff Sgt. Kareem O. Cox of Philadelphia is a tank commander with the unit, responsible for the vehicle and crew, and is featured in this video. Produced by Cpl. Marco Mancha. Also available in High Definition.
