Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command conducted their second general exercise as part of their pre-deployment training program at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, April 24 - May 5, 2017. The task force, comprised of approximately 300 Marines from both active and reserve components, will deploy to Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras this summer to build upon security cooperation efforts and established relationships in the region. Marines with 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade disassemble CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters and AH-1W Super Cobra helicopters as Exercise Cold Response 16 comes to an end March 11, 2016. Cold Response is a joint exercise comprised of 13 allied and partnered countries with approximately 16,000 troops in participation.

B-roll of Marines with 2nd Tanks conduct overwatch missions. Tankers regularly perform overwatch missions for their fellow Marines and other coalition forces. An overwatch mission consists of providing security for the Marine engineers and infantrymen on the ground, improving roads and building a better future for Afghanistan. A single overwatch mission can last an entire day with the main gun turret and driver’s compartments reaching temperatures well above 100 degrees. Staff Sgt. Kareem O.
