More Information
U.S. Marines with Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG), II Marine Expeditionary Force, evaluate the Marines of Maritime Special Purpose Force, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), as they conduct a simulated raid during Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX), at Alexandria, Alabama on May 23, 2023. A raid is a mission requiring a small force to swiftly penetrate hostile territory to secure information, confuse the enemy, or to destroy their installations, and ends with a planned withdrawal upon completion of the mission. EOTG organized COMPTUEX as part of the 26th MEU’s final phase of the pre-deployment training to ensure their Marines and Sailors, in partnership with their Navy teammates, are ready to serve as a formidable deterrent capable of performing missions across a full range of military operations from the sea.
