U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Bailey Haschert, with Alpha surgical Company, 2nd Medical Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, and a native of Westminster, Maryland, was nominated for the 2nd MLG Warrior of the Week on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, March 13, 2024. Haschert was selected by her command for her dedication and leadership abilities, which resulted in significant improvement in the medical skills of her subordinates, peers, and superiors. When asked what the biggest change was from working in a naval hospital to working as a corpsman in 2nd Medical Battalion, Haschert said, “The ability to see what other corpsmen have been through,” she continued, “it allows me to see the full picture of different levels of care.” During the most recent Certification Exercise for 2nd Medical Battalion, Haschert led and trained a team of 12 Sailors in the erection of Base-X 305 tents and camouflage netting, which played a critical role in ensuring the platoon effectively executed their Mission Essential Task List, contributing to the successful evacuation of 73 simulated casualties.
