Hernandez was selected as warrior of the week for his tenacious work ethic while attached to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Fleet Week New York. While aboard the USS New York, Hernandez acted as transmissions chief, setting up vital lines of communication between different ships and providing uninterrupted communications that ensured the command stayed connected via two separate radio nets. While on ship he was directly responsible for managing workflow and scheduling shifts for eight Marines under his charge. The Wasp (WSP) Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and embarked 24th MEU (SOC) is conducting operations in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa area of operations on a scheduled deployment. The WSP ARG-24th MEU (SOC) is supporting U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region, including in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, to continue promoting regional stability and deterring aggression.
