From May 19 - 30, 2025, EOD technicians with 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, and 3rd MLG, III MEF, upon invitation by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, worked on a special project under the supervision of the museum’s collections and curatorial staff to inspect, identify and create a database of ordnance from past wars ranging from the American Revolutionary War to the Vietnam War.

The USS Mahan (DDG-72), an Arleigh Burke class destroyer assigned to U.S. 2d Fleet, fired its Mark 45 5-inch gun in support of 2d ANGLICO, fostering U.S. Navy-Marine Corps integration during the annual exercise. 2d ANGLICO holds annual training to call for fire from naval vessels through their organically assigned naval gunfire liaison officers. 2d ANGLICO has maintained this specialized capability since its inception in 1949 (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl.
