U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Isiah Alvarez, a transmissions systems operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 6, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, performs a communications check in Kamijarvi, Finland, March 16, 2026. During exercise Cold Response 26, CLB-6 provided combat service support to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, including logistical resupplies and motorized heavy weapon support. This event marks one of the first times U.S. Marines have conducted this type of integrated infantry training with their Finnish counterparts since Finland joined the NATO Alliance. A key component of NATO's enhanced vigilance activity Arctic Sentry, exercise Cold Response 26 is a Norwegian-led winter military exercise designed to enhance collective defense capabilities and ensure U.S. readiness to rapidly deploy and seamlessly operate alongside NATO Allies in challenging arctic conditions.
