U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jayden Flora, the innovation lead with Unmanned Systems Center of Excellence, 2nd Marine Division, lifts an Orb Jawbreaker drone in Setermoen, Norway, March 17, 2026. Researchers with Operational Energy Innovation, out of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, tested their Data Acquisition System using an Event Based Sensor to track drones in low-light and nighttime conditions to enhance counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems capabilities, remaining lethal in the era of rapid growing, technology-driven conflict, during exercise Cold Response 26. A key component of NATO's enhanced vigilance activity Arctic Sentry, exercise Cold Response 26 is a Norwegian-led winter military exercise designed to enhance collective defense capabilities and ensure U.S. readiness to rapidly deploy and seamlessly operate alongside NATO Allies in challenging arctic conditions.
