Marturano was the recipient of the Marine Corps League's Chief Hospital Corpsman George William “Doc” Piercy Award, an award presented to a Navy corpsman in the operating forces who has made a significant contribution to increase combat medical readiness within the organization. Marturano, a corpsman with 2nd Medical Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, was assigned to support the 24th MEU, where she played a critical role in achieving 100% deployment readiness for over 2,000 Marines and Sailors in a high operationally demanding command.
