A U.S. Marine with the Battalion Landing Team 1/6, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), climbs down from the USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) into a Navy Special Warfare Rigid Hill Inflatable Boats (RIB) coxswained by the 26th MEU's small boat detachment during a simulated non-compliant visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) while partcipating in PHIBRON/MEU Integration (PMINT) exercise, Jan. 27, 2023. Visit, board, search, and seizure operations are a set of tactics, techniques, and procedures for all missions requiring a target vessel to be visited or boarded. PMINT serves as an opportunity to strengthen integration between the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Amphibious Squadron Group 8’s battle staffs and training to core MAGTF mission essential tasks with capabilities organic to a forward-deployed Amphibious Ready Group/MEU.
