A U.S. Marine with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment (V16), 2nd Marine Division, provides security prior to conducting offensive operations during the Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation (MCCRE) at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sept. 26, 2022. V16 conducted the MCCRE in order to formally certify the unit to composite at the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. V16 will be the Ground Combat Element, a part of the Marine Air Ground Task Force.
