The bank manager at 1st Brigade shows a U.S. Marine advisor with Task Force Southwest how the soldiers withdraw money at 1st Brigade, near New Garm Ser, Afghanistan, Sept. 23, 2017. The advisor wanted to address shortfalls, if any, to allow a smoother process for the soldiers. As part of the new U.S. South Asia strategy, Marines are advising down to the brigade- and kandak-levels where necessary to support Afghan National Defense and Security Force operations.
