Capt. Jeffrey J. Kenney poses for a photo at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., in 1996. That year, he received the Leftwich Trophy, awarded to commanding officers at the company or battery levels within the ground combat element for outstanding leadership. Kenney was the commanding officer of Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment at the time of the photo, and currently serves as the officer-in-charge of Expeditionary Operations Training Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group.
