Command of 2nd Radio Battalion changes hands

Lt. Col. Jerry G. Carter passed command of 2nd Radio Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, to Lt. Col. Matthew G. Rau during a change of command ceremony June 24, 2010, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C.  Carter, a native of York, Pa., was promoted to lieutenant colonel in October 2007 and took command of 2nd Radio Bn. in 2008.  He was recently selected to attend Harvard University as the 2010 United States Marine Corps National Security Fellow. Rau, a native of Bend, Ore., served as a future operations staff officer in the Future Operations Division of the Office of Controlled Operations, Directorate for Human Intelligence before being selected as the new commanding officer of 2nd Radio Bn.
