Wonsmos’ command selected him as warrior of the week for serving in the demanding billet as the quality control non-commissioned officer, a billet routinely held by a sergeant which involves, directing, supervising, inspecting and teaching Marines of all ranks intermediate level repairs on all engineer equipment platforms.
When asked what it’s like being a quality control NCO, Wonsmos said, “I enjoy teaching and leading Marines, and I’ve been able to do that for a while now. I’m pretty fulfilled at the end of the day when we get something done and there’s a feeling of completion. There’s a goal and we achieved it.”
