2nd Medical Battalion conducted a Tactical Combat Casualty Care course aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 30, 2015. The TCCC course taught the sailors of 2nd Med. Bn. basic first responder skills to help prioritize casualty care in combat situations to maximize safety and effective medical care.

Mario Lemieux Foundation Provides new addition to Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune Pittsburgh Penguins owner and National Hockey League Hall of Famer, Mario Lemieux, with his wife Nathalie and member of the Mario Lemieux Foundation, took part in a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony at the Naval Hospital aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina , Oct. 20, 2015. The foundation builds playrooms in the hospitals for children to enjoy and relax in during stressful situations. The Naval Hospital's new playroom will serve more than 75,000 active duty Marines and sailors, along with their families, wounded warriors, and prior service veterans.

Sailors with 2nd Medical Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, participated in Tactical Combat Casualty Care training, April 2, 2015 on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. A realistic scenario, including fake bodies, blood, and explosions was created to simulate a combat scene.

Marines with 2nd Medical Battalion, II Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force completed a four-day long Combat Life Savers class with a written exam and a finale “kill-house” scenario with simulated casualties aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., March 5, 2015. Simulated bombs, the sound of gunfire, screams and fog are just some of the stressful factors Marines had to battle while completing the final exam that ensures they have the necessary skills to treat life-threatening injuries under combat conditions.
