Marines with the II Marine Expeditionary Force complete the Martial Arts Instructor Course at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 09, 2015. This course helps Marines excel in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program while learning key leadership traits that will allow them to lead other Marines in the future, whether it be in MCMAP or combat.

Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, conduct a pre-dive course aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C. Aug. 17-28, 2015. Marines participating in the course were preparing for the Combative Diver Course in Panama City, Fla. later this year.

Thirty-six machine gunners from various units graduated the Advanced Machine Gunners Course, at the Advanced Infantry Training Battalion-East, aboard Camp Geiger, North Carolina, May 22, 2015. During their six-week long course, the machine gunners were broken down and built back up to develop them as the next machine gun leaders at all levels.

Marines with 8th Communication Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force pushed themselves to their limits during the unit’s grueling three-week-long Marine Corps Martial Arts Program instructor course held aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 15 – Oct. 3, 2014. Instructors provided the students with intense, hands-on martial arts instruction and physical conditioning in addition to a wide range of classroom instruction covering everything from human anatomy and leadership techniques, to the Marine Corps’ martial arts history. The Marines also learned how to conduct their own martial arts courses for fellow service members. At each stage of the training, students were tested with written exams and performance evaluations, which included a culminating exercise that tested their martial skills, physical endurance, and capacity to lead. The students will return to their various units around Camp Lejeune to help guide fellow service members through the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.
