Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion honed their skills during pre-deployment training at Fort Stewart, Ga, Nov. 28 – Dec. 15. Marines and Sailors with 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, participated in a deployment-for-training exercise at Fort Pickett, Va., Sept. 11-21, 2017.

Marines with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment conduct a deployment for training exercise at Fort A.P. Hill, Va., Jan. 21 through Feb. 4. The exercise is focused on large-scale operations with the integration of combined anti-armor teams, heavy machinegun fire-support, and rifle platoons.

Marines with Truck Company and Communication Co., both part of Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, traveled to Hinesville, GA, for a Deployment for Training Exercise Aug. 10-Sept. 9, 2015. The Marines had one week to increase their combat proficiency with convoy and Military Operations on Urban Terrain exercises, all while utilizing pre-positioned equipment and gear from embarked forces.

Marines, with 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division trained in embassy reinforcement tactics Feb. 13-15 aboard Camp Upsher, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. The goal of the Continental U.S. Based Alert Force training exercise was to ensure a battalion-sized force could deploy and set up within a 96 hour time frame, and reorganize into a larger force if necessary.
