Sergeant Major, 8th Communication Battalion
Sergeant Major Joyuanki Victore

Sergeant Major Joyuanki Victore enlisted in the Marine Corps on 11 October 2000.  Upon completion of recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, Private First Class Victore attended the Marine Corps School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, North Carolina.  Upon completion, Private First Class Victore was transferred to 2d Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment where he served as rifleman, fire team leader and squad leader. He deployed with the battalion in 2002 (22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit), 2003 (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and once again in 2003/2004 to Okinawa, Japan. 
 
In November 2004, Sergeant Victore was assigned to Marine Aviation Training Support Group-21, at Pensacola, Florida and assumed the duties as the reclassification and indoctrination Chief.

 

In October 2006, Sergeant Victore reported to Drill Instructor School at Parris Island, South Carolina and was assigned to Charlie Company, First Recruit Training Battalion.  He served as Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Marine Corps Instructor Trainer of Water Survival during his tour.

 

In 2010, Gunnery Sergeant Victore was assigned to 3d Battalion, 2d Marines where he served as Weapons Platoon Sergeant, Company Gunnery Sergeant and senior enlisted adviser for an advisory team.  He deployed in 2011 to Afghanistan for combat operations in the Helmand Province. 

Following the deployment in June 2012, Gunnery Sergeant Victore was transferred to Detachment 4, 4th Tank Battalion, Hialeah Florida for Inspector-Instructor duty, where he served as the operations chief.  There, he was selected to the rank of First Sergeant and reported to 2d Tank Battalion in August 2013. In June 2016, First Sergeant Victore reported to Marine Corps Security Force Company, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as the Senior Enlisted Leader.

From June 2018 to November 2018, First Sergeant Victore served as a senior enlisted advisor for Combat Logistics Regiment-27, 2d Marine Logistics Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

In November 2018, he was promoted to Sergeant Major and was selected to assume duty as Senior Enlisted Leader for 8th Communication Battalion.

Sergeant Major Victore and his wife, Heidy, reside in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina with their two sons, Felix and Joyuanki Jr., and their daughter, Ashanti.

Sergeant Major Victore holds an Associate of Arts degree in Theology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.  His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of 3rd award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of 2nd award.
