Sergeant Major Crispiniano D. Curiel was born on 3 July 1980 in Santiago, Dominican Republic. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 8 September 2008 and attended recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. After graduation from recruit training, Private First Class Curiel reported to Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Upon completion, he attended his Military Occupational School (MOS) at Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron 1 (MATSS-1) Meridian, Mississippi, where he received the primary MOS of Aviation Supply Specialist.
In May 2009, Private First Class Curiel reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-14, Marine Aircraft Group-14, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he served as the Aviation Supply Specialist and was subsequently promoted to Lance Corporal. In April 2010, Lance Corporal Curiel was meritoriously promoted to Corporal, and in November 2010, he was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant.
In January 2011, Sergeant Curiel deployed to Afghanistan, attached to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-40 (MALS-40), in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, where he served as the Aviation Supply Consumable Warehouse Chief. In August 2011, he returned from deployment and served as the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the Supply Management Division for MALS-14, MAG-14.
In April 2014, Sergeant Curiel reported to Drill Instructor School class 3-14, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon completing Drill Instructor School, he was assigned to Company D, 1st Recruit Training Battalion. During his tenure, he completed three cycles as a Green Belt Drill Instructor, three cycles as a Senior Drill Instructor, and a cycle as the Follow Series Chief Drill Instructor. On 1 November 2015, Sergeant Curiel was promoted to Staff Sergeant. In 2016, Staff Sergeant Curiel was recognized as the Drill Instructor of the Year for Marine Corps Recruit Depot West.
In November 2016, Staff Sergeant Curiel reported to Drill Instructor School and was subsequently assigned as the Drill Master for Drill Instructor School. In July 2017, Staff Sergeant Curiel was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. In September 2017, he attended Advanced School and was recognized as the Gung Ho Award recipient by his peers.
In November 2017, Gunnery Sergeant Curiel reported to Marine Aviation Logistic Squadron-24, Marine Aircraft Group-24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii where he served as the Consumable Management Division Warehouse SNCOIC. In September 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Curiel attended the Force Fitness Instructor Course where he was recognized as the Gung Ho Award recipient by his peers.
In January 2021, Gunnery Sergeant Curiel was promoted to his current rank of First Sergeant and reported to 2D Combat Engineer Battalion, where he served as Company First Sergeant for Company A and Engineer Support Company.
In June 2022, First Sergeant Curiel reported to the Army Sergeants Major Academy, graduated in June 2023, and received the Physical Fitness Excellence Award.
In July 2023, First Sergeant Curiel received orders to Communications Company, 2d Marine Raider Support Battalion, Marine Raider Support Group, Marine Forces Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune, NC. In December 2023, First Sergeant Curiel was reassigned to Headquarters Company, 2d Marine Raider Support Battalion.
In February 2025, Sergeant Major Curiel received orders to II MEF Support Battalion, II MEF Information Group, where he currently serves as the Battalion Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Curiel holds an Associate's Degree in General Studies from Columbia College. His personal awards include (1) Meritorious Service Medal, (3) Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, (2) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medals.
Sergeant Major Curiel is a graduate of the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy, Marine Corps Senior Enlisted PME, and the Army Sergeants Major Academy.
