Adjutant

Mission

The II Marine Expeditionary Force Command Element (II MEF CE) Adjutant is a Special Staff officer, under the staff cognizance of the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-1. The Adjutant provides administrative support to the CG II MEF, the General and Special Staff Departments, all II MEF subordinate commanders, and tenant commands aboard II MEF.

The Adjutant Section is responsible for: Coordinating internal and external administrative requirements; tracking and monitoring urgent administrative support requested by higher headquarters and/or subordinate commands; preparing and publishing duty roster assignments; publishing staff regulations, preparing, reviewing, and staffing command correspondence to include congressional inquiries/special interest correspondence; processing military and civilian personal awards, unit awards, and special awards; managing the Casualty Assistance Program; maintaining command correspondence files; managing the acquisition, distribution control, and accountability of the command's publications and manages the Directives Control Point (DCP); managing the command's Forms, Records, and Reports Management programs; managing the Privacy Act of 1974, managing the Voter Assistance Program, and managing the Department of the Navy (DON) Tracker tasking system.

Staff Judge Advocate

Mission

The Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (OSJA), II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF), provides legal advice to the Commanding General, II MEF, and his subordinate commanders on a wide range of legal issues. The OSJA provides law advice for exercises and contingency operations and advises the command element on the ethics and standards of conduct issues. The OSJA routinely processes recurring items dealing with military justice, investigations under the Manual of the Judge Advocate General (JAGMAN), administrative separations, and powers of attorney.

Commanding Inspecting General

Mission

To be the "eyes and ears" of the Commanding General, IOT provide timely assessments of training, morale, economy, efficiency, operational readiness and other areas of "special interest" to the commander; also to provide assistance to members of the command, conduct investigations/inquiries as directed, and maintain IG systems with II MEF.
