LtCol Bruce is a native of North Reading, Massachusetts and a graduate of Northeastern University. He commissioned in 2010 through the Platoon Leaders Course.
After completing The Basic School in May 2011 and Field Artillery Basic Officer’s Course, LtCol Bruce reported to Battery F, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines. During his time at Battery F, Battery K, and HQ Battery, LtCol Bruce held the billets of Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Commander, and Executive Officer and deployed on the 31st MEU as a part of BLT 1/5.
In July 2014, LtCol Bruce reported to Naval Air Station Bahrain joining Marine Forces Central Command Forward, serving as the Assistant Fires Officer and Exercise Coordinator. From April to May 2014 LtCol Bruce was assigned to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with the Joint Coordinated Planning Cell assisting the Saudi Campaign in Yemen.
LtCol Bruce checked into Expeditionary Warfare School in August 2015. Graduating in May 2016, he reported to 2d Battalion, 11th Marines and attached to Task Force al-Taqaddum Team 40 where he served as the Task Force Liaison Officer at the Battle Operations Center in Baghdad, Iraq.
In May 2018, LtCol Bruce took command of Battery E, 2d Battalion, 11th Marines and deployed in November 2018 on the 31st MEU as a part of BLT 1/4. Following deployment, LtCol Bruce served as the Aide de Camp to the Commanding General, 1st Marine Division.
In July 2020, LtCol Bruce reported to Special Operations Command Africa. Over three years he held the roles of Fires Officer, Deputy J33, and Deputy J35. During his assignment he deployed to Djibouti with Joint Task Force Quartz for Operation Octave Quartz.
In the fall of 2023, LtCol Bruce was selected to attend the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University as part of the Commandant’s Fellowship program. He graduated in April 2024 with a Master of Arts in International Relations.
In July 2024, LtCol Bruce reported to 1st Battalion, 11th Marines where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer until early May 2025. In May 2025, LtCol Bruce transferred to 11th Marines and served as the 1st Marine Division Assistant Fire Support Coordinator.
LtCol Bruce assumed command of 2d ANGLICO in June 2026.
LtCol Bruce’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (One Gold Star), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (One Gold Star), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
