Lieutenant Colonel Schaub enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in 2005 from San Diego, California. Following recruit training, he served as an Electronic Countermeasures Technician assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 41, Detachment A. While serving in the Reserve Component, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
In 2010, Lieutenant Colonel Schaub accepted a commission as a Second Lieutenant and reported to Flight School as a Student Naval Aviator from 2011-2013. He redesignated as a Logistics Officer and reported to 1st Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, Camp Pendleton, California. During this assignment, he served as the Battalion Logistics Officer, Operations Officer, and Motor Transport Maintenance Company Commander.
From 2016 to 2019, Lieutenant Colonel Schaub was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, in Iwakuni, Japan. During this tour, he served as the Squadron Logistics Officer, Operations Officer, Headquarters and Service Company Commander, Airfield Operations Company Commander, and Aviation Ground Support Liaison Officer for MAG-12.
From 2019 to 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Schaub served at Headquarters, Supreme Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia, as NATO’s Force Protection and Counter-Threats Officer. In this role, he integrated efforts across the Alliance's 30 member nations and coordinated with both military and political staffs. He additionally served as the Counter-IED and Joint-Personnel Recovery subject matter expert.
In 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Schaub reported to the 2d Marine Division and served as the Regimental Logistics Officer for 10th Marines. He oversaw logistical planning and support for deployments throughout the continental United States and across 21 European countries. In 2023, he was reassigned to the Division G-4 Plans Section, where he focused on operational-level logistics integration with joint forces and future strategic logistics planning.
In June 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Schaub was selected to serve as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-10, where he led efforts to integrate prevention resources across all destructive behavior functional areas. During this assignment, he deployed to the Mediterranean Sea as the J-5 Director for Joint Task Force 406 Rotation 3, overseeing allied and partner nation logistics integration in support of noncombatant evacuation operations.
From June 2025 to June 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Schaub served as the Executive Officer of Combat Logistics Regiment 2. During this period, he deployed as the J-3 Director for Joint Task Force–Southern Guard, coordinating operations in support of interagency partners throughout the SOUTHCOM AOR for Illegal Alien Holding Operations.
Lieutenant Colonel Schaub is a graduate of the Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Operations Course, the MAWTS-1 Aviation Ground Support Officer Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course, and Expeditionary Warfare School and Command and Staff (Non-resident). He also holds a professional certificate from MIT, a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from University of Oklahoma.
His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 4 Gold Stars, along with various service and campaign awards.
