U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 24, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, transfer equipment between vehicles in preparation for a long-range convoy during exercise Aurora as part of Sword 26 in Værnes, Norway, April 18, 2026. The Marines are preparing vehicles to ensure all equipment is mission-capable and safely configured for an upcoming movement across challenging Norwegian and Swedish terrain. U.S. Marines and Sailors with 2nd Marine Logistics Group are participating in Aurora as part of the larger Sword 26 series of linked multinational exercises. This participation directly supports NATO's Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative concept, validates defense plans, builds a unified lethal force, and strengthens deterrence.
