Distinguished visitors from the Department of Defense speak with Marines from 2nd Maintenance Battalion following a demonstration of 3D printing and additive manufacturing technology at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Aug. 17. Technological advancements such as 3D/AM printing has the potential to vastly reduce the time required to acquire small spare parts for vehicles and other equipment. Alan Estevez, Principal Deputy under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, Kristin French, Principal Deputy under Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Material readiness, and Lt.
