U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (26th MEU(SOC)) and Italian San Marco Brigade Marines exchange sniper tactics, techniques, and procedures during a bilateral exercise at Massafra, Italy, Feb. 24, 2024. The 26th MEU(SOC), embarked aboard USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), conducted Marine Air-Ground Task Force interoperability training with Italian San Marco Brigade Marines and maritime forces to sustain readiness in core mission essential tasks. The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 26th MEU(SOC), is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. 6th Fleet to defend U.S., Allied, and partner interests.
