Lance Cpl. Jacob B. Pickett, a landing support specialist with 2nd Transportation Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, poses for a photo on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, April 1, 2020. “Knowledge is power that can and will put you in a position to do great thing,” said Pickett, a Rockmart, Georgia native. According to his leadership, Pickett is currently one of few lance corporals in the platoon who participates as a Team Leader during Helicopter Support Operations, as well as a Safety NCO underneath the aircraft. Pickett was distinguished as being an excellent representation of his command by the participating squadron Marine Medium Tilt-Rotor Squadron (VMM) 162. His professionalism and coordination throughout the operation successfully led to over ten day time and night time lifts being conducted at Tactical Landing Zone Phoenix with zero mishaps and injuries..
