II MEF Banner refresh

Apr 26, 2016

Marines from 2nd Radio Battalion and 2nd Law Enforcement Battalion worked in cooperation with the National Park service to clean up debris from Shackleford Banks Island on April 21, 2016. The pollution comes to the island from the ocean due to hurricanes and littering; the goal is to clean the island biannually to reduce the risk of it affecting the wildlife and the wild horses inhabiting the island.
